Cowboy Reentry
Posted by Robert N Pruden on Dec 13, 2004
You saw a cowboy reentry. If that guy made it look simple then he was very good at it. I tried to do that with my kayak and failed miserably. My daughter, on the other hand, thought I was just horsing around. Good thing she got a few laughs out of it; I got a series of good dunkings out of it. I was trying to do a cowboy reentry with a kayak full of water. The kayak was way too unstable with a cockpit full of water. Then again, I couldn't do it with a dry cockpit either. Such a reentry requires a lot of skill. I did succeed with a reentry my leaning over the cockpit onto my stomach then carefully pulling one leg at a time into the cockpit. I have a ton of work left to do before I become proficient at reentries.
