it doesn't work in this application to buckle and cinch,,although that's exactly what fastek buckles are designed for, you'd need long straps to get a pull and the flat hard wood kind of locks the strap. Here they're used like a ratchet where they're adjusted then pressed to maximum tension requireing two hands to close it well. Give the through deck anchor for the webbing a try,,it can make a big difference.
