Re: Where to paddle in D.

I'd like to suggest the southern area of Maryland in Charles county. There's Mattawoman creek near the Indian Head Navy Base. Launch at the boat ramp in Smallwood Park. South of that is Nanjemoy creek. You can launch at Frendship Landing for free and paddle west up a winding creek or east toward open waters of the bay. Near La Plata there's the Port Tabacco River where you can launch from the beach at Chapel Point. Plenty of open water and a few creeks to explore. I,ve also found some nice paddling around Cobb Island at the south tip of Charles and from the Marina at Swan Point.
Maybe I'll run into you this summer.
