Re: anyone installed a ru

I've installed three of the CLC rudders. Installation is pretty easy if you follow the directions, not so easy if you don't. I glued on two small, angled blocks on the deck about six inches or so in front of the rudder cradle and a about 1.5 inches in from the shear, then drilled through the blocks at a shallow angle down through the deck to receive the cable housings. The yakima foot pedals and sliding brackets work fine. The rudders have taken some abuse and held up fine. I use a rudder more than most folks due to a bad back that limits my control strokes.
Some folks route the cable housing down through the rudder cradle, a neater installation, but one that I felt put a bit more friction on the cables.
