anyone installed a rudder

Hi all. I am half way through building my CLC double and have decided to put in a rudder. I went shopping today to look at the various systems. Im wondering about the standard rudder that CLC sells on the website - did people have any trouble installing it? the deck has no raised or indented areas for the cables to run through - do you get deck scratches? How did you find the footpedals - are the comfortable and easy to use?
