seems to me that having the kayak broken in half makes the bows ability to stay in one piece kind of immaterial. I'm not saying the bow shouldn't be able to handle some normal abuse ,,but if a triangle made out of three sections of plywood with doubled 6oz on the leading edge and 9oz tape on the inside can't stay together then not much else will be staying together that isn't triangulated,,like the middle of the kayak where there's large expanses of panels.
