My guess on a consensus here is that 220 is too much.

That's why I'm fishing with this alternate opinion.

I can't offer anything with my own experience.

I believe the worry nagging everyone sanding between coat of varnish is that all applied previously is being removed.

I have two kinds of Interux, Schooner and Goldspar. On the Schooner can it says 220 with 320 for the last sanding. On the Goldspar can it just say 220 to 320.

On the boat I painted I use 400. On the varnished boat 320. I'm thinking about what to do on boat three (as yet not started or selected).
