When I built radio controlled boats, I used to glue ping pong balls into every hollow I could find. I thought I had invented something really smart until a navy veteran from WWII saw one of my boats on disply with the hatch open and said that the Japanese destroyer bulkheads were filled with thousands of ping pong balls and they were darned hard to sink.
Everything old is new again.........
