Epoxy hardener pump

I haven't used my epoxy in a few months. This afternoon, I wanted to mix a small batch. The resin pump worked fine. But, when I tried to pump some hardener into the mixing cup, all I got was air when I pumped -- no hardener. What happened? I have no idea. I've left the epoxy for months before and, when I returned, the pumps always worked fine. Anyone have any ideas? Can I fix the pump somehow? Or, do I need to get a new one?
