Thank you, Roger. Yes, I can still fit cars in the garage.
The storage racks are simple shelving brackets sold at Home Depot. They each have a 50 pound capacity, and are mounted to vertical 2x4's that were screwed into wall studs. It's worked out quite well.
The planked look on the Night Heron is all done with Western Red Cedar. One of the great things about Western Red Cedar is the wide variety of colors.
I'm currently working on a Guillemot S strip kayak, where I've incorporated a small amount of the planked look. (Pictures next month!)
