Thanks. That makes more sense. Lee helm can be dangerous in some situations. I checked the design of the CLC sharpie and it has a dagger board, which limits your ability to control boat trim with the board. Putting some crew or weight forward will help, but you're still dealing with a very unbalanced rig with one sail. Even though these self-tacking two-masters like this boat are easy to sail, you still gotta deal with two sails when you're single handing.
Best advice may be to put in a reef and enjoy the nice, balanced ride.
