It's a WD skerry kit. The WD boat is actually not meant to be a skerry but the design is the same, all I need to do is add a mast and rudder, easy enough to do. I'm also going to add oarlocks. The mast and rudder will be removeable so that I can paddle the wife around while she sits pretty under a parasol (her idea, not mine, of course, if it was my idea she'd be pappdling and I'd be sipping a Guinness with my feet dragging in the water) WD hardly competes with CLC, CLC is a considerably larger company and has nothing to fear from WD coz WD has a tiny shop and has limited capacity to produce. WD caters to a tiny market here on the Canadian Prairies, not a lot of sea kayakers here.
On another note, I just might have to get one of the nice CLC kits just to say I built one. I've heard a lot of great things about CLC and even spotted a CLC on the river here this summer but I couldn't get a good look at it, they were paddling downstream and I was hard into a lengthy pull upstream.
