planing sheers

Posted by Steven Laughmiller on Oct 11, 2004

I am confused so here is my question. When planing the sheer on my ch17 I will be using the templates supplied by CLC. According to these templates, I will be taking alot of the sheer down and ALSO some of the hull side to conform to the template. Is it correct to be planing some of the hull side; looks like about a 1/4 inch of the hull will be planed. The sheers were glued 1/4 in proud per instructions in the manual. It just doesn't seem right to plane the plywood sides also. Help! Thanks Steve
