Scrape it off

Use a reasonably sharp putty knife. If the epoxy underneath is cured to hardness you should be able to use acetone or denatured alcohol to wash the rest of the mess off. It's sad to hear that your project is so delayed, I sure know how exciting it is to have a project nearing completion. Make sure all of the offending epoxy is removed because if not it will prevent the new stuff from adhering properly.
