CH17 hatch rims

I'm about to make the hatch rims and neither plan nor book specify 4mm or 6mm. The plan picture looks more like 6mm. My '6mm' ply is substantially thicker than the 4mm I've got, probably the 4mm is a bit thin and the 6mm a bit thick. I'm concerned that the 6mm may distort the deck curve or be un-necessarily thick.
