I had never made a thing out of wood before I started my CH16 from plans, I followed Mikes "measure twice, cut once" policy and yes there are a couple of minor mistakes that I can't actually name at the moment because I've forgotten what they are. You'll forget all about any mistakes the first time someone comes up to you and comments on what a beautiful boat you have, it's not often if ever you'll get that with a tupperware boat.

There is something special about the first paddle in your new kayak.

The big thing to remember is "it is only a mistake if you can't fix it" and these boats are forgiving when you are building them.

So it is time to get out to the garage and have some fun.
