Interesting, Doug. I never tried it that way for the entire boat.

It would throw all your measurements for bulkheads, hatches, etc. off increrasingly as you move along the hull, but some thought could probably account for this.

I may try this on a CH 16, as I'd like to shorten it to 14.5 feet or so.
