Yeah, I think the MC 16.5 is more versatile, lighter, easier to get on/off the car single-handed and handles better in tight spots (but it's a bit slower). An experienced poler like yourself could probably pole it also, if you so choose. I think my dear, departed, duck-hunting Dad would say it could easily be modified for hunting also. I've paddled mine single-handed and it did fine with two gallon water jugs in the forehatch. I presume it sails well, though I never got my sail finished to try it this year (the boat's in Canada and, sadly, I'm presently not).
