As you know, Canadians are a very polite people. Maybe, that applies to their rocks too.

Seriously, you're right. The rocks seem to be more rounded in the Maritimes. At least that's my experiences with the NFLD coast. It might have to do with the land masses being formed differently, and different wave/erosion action.
