Yeah, I'm with Chris on using squeegees whenever possible. Makes for a smoother finish as well as a lighter, but no less strong, boat.
Nice wide squeegees, either homemade or the kind you buy at the home center for cleaning shower stalls, are great for doing the large panels of kayaks.
