Successful Surgery

Posted by Michelle Moran on Sep 8, 2004

Post operative report -- one spreader stick successfully amputated via use of a dremmel tool, a borrowed fein multi-master (cool tool!), a japanese hand saw, a mini-plane and some sand paper. A new spreader stick, with wax paper taped to each end, is happily re-inserted. I figure, that in another decade or so, I should have the remainder of the drips etc. sanded down enough to fiberglass the bottom and inside of the canoe. Actually, I'll probably have to aim for that happening within the next month or it's going to be too cold to pull it off.

Thanks for the suggestions and the encouragement. My garage floor is happy to know it's in good company.
