Drip scraping techniques?

Posted by Michelle Moran on Sep 5, 2004

I now have the Sassafras filleted and the seams epoxied. There are quite a few drips on the stems where the epoxy flowed down river to the lowest point, then ran off. The epoxy is at the stage where it is not gummy to the touch, but will easily take an imprint of your fingernail if you press into it. Is it best to scrape the drips now or wait until everything is fully cured?

By the way, as I've said, I've never worked with epoxy before. God, this stuff is messy!! Totally aside from the safety issues that I'm now aware of, wearing gloves is a necessity simply to avoid gluing yourself to the canoe or your tools or your garage for that matter...
