I installed the VCP hatch that CLC sells on a CH 17 just aft of the cockpit. Mounted it on the port side off center in the flatest area. Did not shim it & there doesn't appear to be any distortion of the deck. The cover works correctly & is watertight. Installed it 4 yrs ago.
