I saw an old Cape Charles where the builder used a lot of cabosil to make a fairing compound,,I think it sat for years wearing sanders down.
On one s&g kayak I used white glass microballoons with white pigment for a kind of ablative gel coat under paint. On another used a little cabosil with pigment for a third and fourth fill coat with sanding after the second fill coat. That made for a tough base under the paint. On one deck used about a half teaspoon of cabosil in 8oz of epoxy to make a thick fill coat because I didn't want to do more than two fill coats.
