I agree with you, Jack. We need to seriously weigh making sacrifices of time, money, boat durability, and boat structural integrity to make an already extremely light boat even lighter. It is gilding the lily if one's requirements for toting can be done with a compact-folding, easily rigged two-wheel cart.

And who's can't? I would suggest folks look into it. They may be surprised to find that the cart approach works nicely, and then they can stop counting grams of kayak and go back to counting grams of carbohydrate or whatever it is we are counting this season, I forget.
