Seperating the Fiberglass

Im building the double. I have rolled out the fiberglass cloth and found I have one thin piece for the deck and one super long piece for cockpit and hull. By the manual wording I thought the cockpit and hull pieces would already be seperated. I wanted to check if this is the norm before I go cutting and screw things up royally.
