Lee,
Thank's for responding so quickly. I'll have to go back through all my literature and catalogues to see where I picked up the term "Britsh HEAVY". I never thought it had much to do with the boat's weight - though you may be correct about that. I thought it refered to the craft's handling.
Pygmy's Osprey HP is catalogued as handeling "like a British kayak" and is highlighted as a very straight tracker with multi-chine.
You're obviously correct that both the US and UK build a wide variety of hulls and generalization is not possible any longer.
