An opinion: If the point is to sell the boats and they are used, perhaps it is not practical to think about recouping cost + labor invested. If it was brand new, that would make sense of course. But as they are used and the goal is to sell them, perhaps starting with 1/2 the cost makes more sense. The justification would be that you derived the pleasure of making and using them, and that really can't be repayed with money. Additinally, the alternative to having a high price is they sit unsold for a period of time, unless you want to market them harder and that costs more.
