How about some numbers ,Dave, 1-2 minutes per mile seem about right? I could use the Pax for training and go to the races with both boats and use a boat according to conditions. I can't justify $3500 at least for a fast boat but I would spring for a Pax even if it is slightly slower. Here in Vermont I must build when the temps are doable in my garage-after May 15th for the last 2 years to get consistent working time. I've done a 17 LT and my wife and I are doing a 16. A PAx 20 would round out the quiver. I have 2 high schoolers who will paddle also.
