Making the boat lighter

What is your opinion on this plan for a chessy:

1. Fillets on bow and stern are epoxy + wood flour

2. SInce I have microballoons on hand, I am thinking of making cockpit fillets with epoxy + microballoons and perhaps save some weight.

Structurally, thinking that the cockpit still will have tape + glass inside and glass outside.

Are there any drawbacks to this and could it save some weight?
