Panels not ending even

I'm confused. In the C17 manual, in stitching up the panels it's says not to worry if the panels don't come out even at the stern as that will be corrected in a latter step. Well, I can't find the latter step. I think I oughta even them out before putting the final wires in and flipping the boat. Or should I flip the boat, check the alignment and then shave the keel panel?
