2 Part Polyurethane

I notice that the Interlux catalog call Brightside "the above the true waterline" paint.
They suggest a two part Polyurethane.
Of course our kayaks are not in the water that much, but would this two part Polyurethane be worth the extra trouble?
Or is it really that much trouble?
