We followed your suggestion and made the joints properly without concern for the total length.

Each panel came out identical by my eyes but a half each shorter than the plans show.

However, it stiched up very easily today. We got the first boat through the first coat of epoxy and fiber glassed seams for the bow section

The team is pleased.
