Coaming ...status update
Posted by FrankP on Jul 15, 2004
Okay, last night I started my coaming riser. I haven't sanded the rails or glassed the deck yet, but I figured while I'm fixing my deck gaps I might as well get something else done, so I started the coaming. I put some plastic bags on the deck and inside the cockpit then glued up the riser pieces and clamped them in place. Anyone done this in the past? I think I remember reading about someone who prefers doing it in steps like this. I'm hoping that clamping the risers this way will pre-form them so that glueing them to the deck will be easier when the time comes. I'm planning to wait until I do that to put the lip on.
