Mac, Good to hear you're getting comfortable. I think as long as the material is thin and you don't have too tight a fit around your feet, anything to soften the heel resting points would be good. If you're worried about the material interacting with your booties when the weather/water gets colder, just glue some spandex on top of the padding material. This will also help with general comfort when you're not wearing shoes and help the padding material last longer.
