Hello Larry:

First, does this Cape Charles have bulkheads? If not , they will be needed first. Decide upon location, then make cardboard templates coat both sides with epoxy and install with a epoxy/wood flour paste.

Contact CLC about the hatch kits, however you can make your own. I made mine out of 1/4" plywood making a spacer and a lip and using the wood that I cut for the hatch opening for the hatch cover.

Installing a rudder is not problematical as rudders are intended to be installed on finished boats.
