The wife is making noises that she wants a solo canoe. Her 16' Prospector is just not a good solo boat. I don't have time to do another stripper for her so I am looking at stitch and glue types. The Sassafras series meets the basic needs but 12' is too small and 16' is too big. The 14' that is mentioned on the site and is in the book (The Canoe Shop) sounds about right. I assume CLC doesn't sell the 14 because it doesn't really fill a need that isn't covered for most people by the other boats in the line.
Has anyone built one (Sassafras 14) from the book plans? Lofting isn't a big deal if all of the needed points are in the drawings.
