There are several discussions on this forum about how to do the overhang. I simply let my deck glass hang over about an inch or so. After the epoxy was fully cured, I used a paint scraper to remove the major bumps and lumps, and then I sanded the rest to feather it in.
My biggest problem was with frayed bits of cloth, but using some of the taping methods others have suggested makes that much less of an issue.
