Re: shear clamps & curvat

Alan, I have never built a Chessy, but that's okay... I will officiously spout off anyway, and then wonder who actually looked up 'officious'...
You have done neither anything 'stupid' or 'normal'. In fact, I begin to doubt you have ever done a 'normal' thing in your life if you're fool enough to try building a boat of your own...
Plane the hell out of those sheer clamps in order to produce maximum surface for deck attachment, and more specifically, to bring 'em down to the deck beam. I mean, how much height can you remove from the hull sides? 3/4" in an absolute worst-case? If any "horizontal" is left on the sheer clamps, just rely upon the dookie-schmutz to handle it. You'll know where to pile it on.
Cheers, Kurt
