I'm 5'10" and 180lbs and the CH 16 does me fine, I haven't gone on an extended trip in it yet and the only problem I can foresee is that I may have to be a little ruthless on how much gear I take.

I'm sure that CLC says they have a max payload of 240lbs, so I can take 60lbs of gear with me.(My wife is around 140lbs so she can carry all the gear in her kayak :). Even 60lbs of gear is a lot more than I take when I go on a 4 or 5 day tramping (Hikeing) trip.

Go for it, buy the kit you won't regret it.
