Re: Sciatica

Hi Mac,

I don't have sciatica, but I feel for you. I do have frequent back pain and have had surgery and about every other procedure known to legitimate medicine. I do get some pain and numbness in my legs and lower back from kayaking IF I forget my swimming pool snake. Huh? you might ask.

I cut up one of those cheap, K-mart (or Canadian Tire, in your case) foam pool snakes into 22" sections and stick it under my thighs when I paddle. Works great. My wife likes hers also. It's also useful for beating back infidels without getting sued for using excessive force.

Now, some of our patient readers might argue that a longer, artfully sculpted minicell foam seat might have the same effect. Maybe, maybe not. I do know that: 1. I like to move the snake forward/backward on occassion, and 2: Carving a seat to fit my butt/thighs perfectly would be more than my lazy nature could tolerate. 3: Pool snakes are far cheaper than minicel and I, being far cheaper than Bob Cratchet's boss, like that.

Anyhow, hope you have great success in managing the sciatica.

10 days to Mahone Bay! Can't wait, but I guess I'll have to.
