For me the hardest part in boat building is assembling all the lumber and bits from here in the Rocky Mountain region. CLC solved that part by sending me the kit and a lot of the equippage. Next hardest (not really hard, just tedious) was stringing together those fussy little slat seats for the MC16.5, especially irritating when the Chris K book told me how easy they are to build. Considering the hours I have in slats I won't switch to Happy Bottoms or whatever. The deck went on without much fuss. I tried the strap idea but the straps bowed the deck too much in my trial so I just followed the instructions. Dave
