Many of the heavy duty packing tapes and off brand packing tapes stick too well to previously cured epoxy. Many builders have had to use solvents to remove the glue off the hull. Use 3M Scotch Light Duty clear Packing Tape. The glue stays on the tape, you get more length of tape for the price and it stretches better to use for clamping operations. Trust me on this one use 3M.
