I'm not sure about the bulkheads in the 17LT, but for my CH16, the fore bulkhead fit great in the prescribed location. The aft one fit fine, but only when located about an inch closer to the stern. According to the manual and video, location isn't a critical concern as long as everything is fair and clean.
