pigment in epoxy

Posted by RogerJ on May 23, 2004

From my very limited experience I would recommend starting the pigment no later than the third fill coat. After that the coats are likely to be so thin the pigment doesn't give the desired effect. Also, the addition of the pigment (white) seemed to make the epoxy "thinner" but it also seemed to go off quicker. A little Colodial Silica (West Systems) thickened and smoothed, reduced runs. Pigment definatly altered the handling characteristics of the schmoo. RogerJ
