I had the same problem. For a fix I clamped two pieces of scrap wood to both sides of the bulkhead set so that they projected slightly over the top of the bulkhead. These were used as forms and were coated in packing tape so that the epoxy would not stick to them. I mixed a dose of epoxy and wood flower and filled the 1/4 gap between the two forms. After it was cured I removed the forms and used the planing guide to cut the extended bulkhead to the correct arc. Then I installed the deck as usual (more or less).
