Production Assistant (full-time)

Chesapeake Light Craft is searching for a bright, energetic, small-boat enthusiast to join our production team. We're looking for applicants who have previous paddling/rowing/sailing experience.  Boatbuilding skills would be great, but not required. You will find our shop a "toy factory" that rewards versatility, flexibility, and a sense of fun.

As a member of our production team, you will be an integral part of what keeps our ship afloat, manufacturing boat kits that we ship all over the world. Working hours are 8:30 -- 5:00 including a break for lunch. Salary negotiable, and benefits include paid vacation, holidays, and sick leave; matching Simple IRA, boat shop privileges, and a collegial, dynamic work environment.

Chesapeake Light Craft is the world's largest boat-kit company. The work is challenging and fast-paced. You'll be expected to acquire a deep understanding and ownership of all our kits and their contents. Builders of all experience levels rely on you; you'll be signing your name to the checklist of each kit. This job includes a lot of variety, but primarily you'll be machining, organizing, packing, and shipping kits.

You should be able to lift up to 50 pounds on your own. You will be in direct contact with customers and boatbuilding students from time to time, so an upbeat personality is a must! A sincere willingness to help our customers build the boat of their dreams is essential at CLC. Occasional travel is possible to beautiful seaside locations to help out with boat shows.

Chesapeake Light Craft is an equal opportunity employer.  This is a full-time, entry-level position.

No phone calls; please email resumes and cover letters to ed@clcboats.com
