Photo Contest Results: October 2017

Charlie H of Polson, Montana, sent in this sunset view of his slightly modified Chester Yawl at rest on the shore of Flathead Lake. It's a great shot, evoking the best of a summer evening, and a cool dip in a lake at the end of a day of rowing. Congratulations, Charlie, on your photo contest win - we're sending you  a $150 CLC gift certificate!

All of our top three finishers every month are automatically entered in our end-of-the-year annual competition for the big $1,000 CLC gift certificate, so our runners-up also are still in the running.

Second Place: Aaron S of Spanish Fork, Utah, submitted this lovely shot of his Passagemaker Dinghy on Strawberry reservoir in northern Utah. "We strapped our Passagemaker Dinghy on top of our Toyota Sienna and drove 40 miles on highway, then forest road, then washboard gravel road. We drove through rain but the sun was up and it was calm and empty when we got there. We have young kids and they loved being out on the lake all afternoon."

And in third Place: Gary B of Oak Island, North Carolina, says he has no problem finding crew for his Northeaster Dory. "Here, my young relatives test their rowing skills in the at Lockwood's Folly, North Carolina," Gary says (click on the photo for a larger version, to see how much they enjoy it!). "Completed last year, Petrel has been a joy to build and row, as well as sail with her easily rigged main and jib."

Congratulations, all, and thanks to everyone who submitted a photo or two for participating!
