Boatbuilding Class FAQs
Class Details:
This 11'6" skiff will plane with a small outboard, and it's perfect for fishing, crabbing, or just knocking around the harbor. Built from plywood and sheathed in fiberglass, your lightweight skiff will last a lifetime. On the Chesapeake, a "Peeler" is a molting crab.
Peeler is built stitch-and-glue style. Capacity is about 500 pounds, with max outboard power about 7.5hp. You'll tow this lightweight skiff on the smallest of trailers behind 4-cylinder cars. A single rowing station provides auxiliary power.
